Hello again. I'm back from my eventful weekend. Had a good time in Memphis, got to know some people in my English class alot better, especially Kendall. I had this impression of him as being one of these anti-social, quiet people, one who doesn't care much for society or people in general. But what I found out this weekend is that he is quite the opposite, really. He is also a fellow Gibson-ite, a man well on his way to joining the ranks of the 'Otaku', and an extremely intelligent intellectual. We spent 3-4 hours Friday night in conversation, sharing our views and beliefs on many topics (love, religion, the meaning of life...u know, normal things). It was quite a mental workout for me, but I am definitely glad to know that I have a made a new friend who is almost exactly the same as me. Its a good feeling.
The Symposium on Saturday was also an enjoyable event, even if we all had to get up at 7:00 or so in the morning. We started off with the first session, which for me was 'Poetry 2'; it was a very helpful and informative class. I learned many things that I would not have found out about until later on, I'm sure; things which can not only be applied to poetry, but also short (or long) fiction. Then we broke for lunch, which contained some of the best pizza ever, and I met this girl named Chrissy. I noticed during the first session she was kind of checking me out, which I'm used to [;)], and during lunch we had a chance to talk a little bit, as well as during the next afternoon session (Short Fiction 1). She's a really cool person, and I think she'll be a good friend to have, and plus it'll be nice to have another fellow writer I can converse with occasionally.
I think maybe I'll cut it off until tomorrow. There's too much information to share with all of you that it can't all be contained in just one post.
Good evening all, and until better days reunite us...
